1997 Hiace KZH116
This 1997 Toyota Hiace KZH116 long-wheelbase van is powered by a dependable, yet peppy 1kz 3.0 liter turbo diesel. This vehicle is paired with an automatic transmission for easy driving, and a limited slip rear differential for traction in adverse conditions. This Hiace is equipped with Toyota's full time 4wd / 4x4 system for that go-anywhere van-life experience. Mileage clocks in around 122,000 KM’s or 76,000 miles. These engines are bulletproof, and often are seen with 300,000+ miles with no rebuild. The exhaust has been upgraded to a full 3” from the downpipe back, through a brand new muffler. It has just the perfect amount of growl, without the drone, and does a great job of keeping those pesky EGTs down.
Inside you'll find seating for 10, but the long wheelbase is the perfect platform for your DIY build-out . It is also equipped dual zone ice cold A/C and toasty hot heat to keep you comfortable in all conditions. The windows are sliders all around which, needless to say, is a huge perk. The front seats were upgraded to UZH138 buckets which are wider and far more comfortable, but still match the factory interior. Speaking of huge perks, how about safety features? This vehicle is equipped with ABS and dual front air bags, which only started for the 1997 model year. It also has power windows and locks.
This 1997 Hiace rides on new Toyo Open Country A/T III tires including, a full size wheel and spare tire, and upgraded Raguna zzyzx 16” forged 3-pc wheels. It is lifted 2" with a Roamer lift kit and KYB MonoMax off road shocks, for extra ground clearance and added capability. There’s not a single part of the suspension which was left untouched; each of the bushings were replaced.
In addition to the suspension, the entire vehicle received our attention and not a single service item was deferred.
